Curlew Cottage, Windmill

A lovely Peak District holiday cottage in the picturesque village of Great Hucklow, near Tideswell, Derbyshire.

The cottage is built in local stone and was originally a barn. The building is 200 years old and has been lovingly and sympathetically converted by the current owners. Many original features have been retained, including many fine beams and the original thick stone walls.

Ground Floor

Downstairs there is a spacious lounge with a beamed ceiling, ambient lighting and a magnificent stone fireplace which houses a glowing log-burning stove.

There is a dining area with an oak dining table and then a sitting area with a luxuriously comfortable suite, flat-screen TV, DVD and CD/radio/cassette player.

Off the lounge there is a superbly fitted kitchen with exposed beams, high quality kitchen units, fitted hob and oven, microwave, fridge and automatic washing machine.

First Floor

There is a luxurious double bedroom with exposed beamed ceiling, warm lighting, a TV and an original French cast iron bed.

Next door there is an elegant bathroom with exposed beams, an original French cast iron bath, WC and a separate shower.

Additional Notes

• The cottage is fitted with storage heaters and power for these is included in the rental price.
• An initial supply of fuel for the fire in the lounge is provided.
• Outside there is a gravelled patio area with outdoor furniture.
• Off-road parking for one car is also available on the patio.
• Smoking in the cottage is not permitted.
• One well-behaved dog may be permitted by arrangement only - but only in the downstairs rooms please.
